“Freedom is never clean — it bleeds, drips, and demands to be repainted.”
In this work, I wanted to merge political history with painterly chaos. Liberté is not a patriotic gesture; it’s an emotional protest. The drips and splatters carry the residue of action — the artist’s body speaking through the medium. I see the French tricolour as both sacred and exhausted, and I wanted the painting to hover between reverence and rebellion. Every mark here questions whether liberty can survive the systems that claim to protect it.
